The legendary modern Woodstock, Mysteryland USA festival, is back again for the second year in the United States, taking place at the old Woodstock camping grounds in Bethel, NY. The festival is back for another year of camping on the Holy Grounds, bringing thousands of electronic dance music (EDM) fans from all over the world for a three day Memorial Day weekend of music, dancing, interactive art and live entertainment. I am excited to be back to experience another year with such amazing people from all over the world who come here for the love of music. With headliners like Madeon, Porter Robinson, Netsy and Diplo this weekend will be one for the books. Mysteryland is one of the longest running electronic music festivals in history which began in 1993, in the Netherlands, produced by the Dutch company ID&T. Last year was the first year it took place in New York at the one and only old Woodstock grounds of 1969. The festival’s intention is to create an immersive, sensory experience with a “peace, love, unity, respect” ethos. “We want to create a multiple day life and interactive art experience… in between the commercial dance events and the real off-site creative festivals like Burning Man,” said ID&T co-founder Irfan van Ewijk.
My passion is to one day create my own festival or work for ID&T, SFX Entertainment, or Insomniac, which are the innovative companies that produces and organizes festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo, Tomorrowworld and so on. When I went to my first festival back in 2011, Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, Nevada, I could not help the feeling I felt meeting so many people from all over the Earth we live in. The welcoming feeling and the conversations and listening to the backgrounds of people of all different cultures was a euphoric feeling. I said to myself "where have I been living all my life and why haven't I ever experienced this before?" EDM today holds the stigmatic idea of the culture being involved substance abuse. Society tends to view festivals as its attendees using drugs and alcohol and an escape of the "real-world." Although it may have some truth for some, but in my personal real life experiences I have met people who have attended sober. People who suffer from some form if depression or anxiety and attend as a "natural therapy" to listen to the music and visualize the amazing creative art that people provide. You have people of all ages ranging from 21-60 maybe even older. I have seen older couples, probably from the old Woodstock attending festivals for a sense of community, uniformity, music, and art culture.
What I love about Mysteryland is the camping experience, the art exhibits, the experience of the healing garden where you can connect with your inner self through sound healing and massages. Experience yoga as you listen to the calming beats of deep house. Connect with yourself through music and art culture. All festivals are different in a sense but they all have the same goal, which is to provide a temporary escape of reality. Music and Art is healing. In all reality you need a little escape from reality in order to rejuvenate yourself and for your own sanity! Mysteryland USA, Memorial Day weekend, here we come!!

My New Blog Spot
This is my new blog I have created to pursue my journey in working in the Entertainment Business. I am studying for my Masters Degree in Entertainment Business and I hope to work in the live music entertainment industry. I would love to attain a career at one of the most biggest leading producers of live and media events like SFX or ID&T. Although this is what my focus is at the moment, who knows where I will eventually end up. So join me on my journey to manifesting my future.
